Stamp Focus: Dot Labels

I created three projects for today's post, mostly holiday-related, as I love this time of the year, and I thought it might offer some inspiration for the upcoming season.

Let's start with a gift wrapping idea.

 I used a cut file from my stash to cut the pillow box out of kraft card stock. Since I love the look of white on kraft paper, I decided to add some textured dots in that color with the Altenew Tiny Bubbles Stencil. While the texture paste was still wet, I applied Translucent Pearl embossing powder to it and zapped it with a heat gun. It is hard to see in the picture, but those little dots are so shiny and glittery!

I then made my embellishments for the top of the box. I used one of the craft dies included in the Envelope Liner Die set to cut the sprigs. I colored them by blending some Forest Glades Ink all over, and added some Evergreen Ink on the edges for more definition. Now onto my label. After stamping it with Ruby Red Ink, I die cut it and heat-embossed the sentiment from the Build-A-Flower: Poinsettia stamp set with Translucent Pearl embossing powder. Some red and natural colored twine finished the box.

For my second project, I have a Christmas tag.

Once again, you can see a combination of white and kraft cardstock. I started by heat-embossing the sentiment with Copper Crisp embossing powder, which is definitely a must-have. It is just gorgeous!!! Same color was used to heat-emboss the label onto patterned paper from the Our Family Scrapbook Collection. For the background of the tag, I created a border with some of the adorable tiny stamps in the Happy Holidays set. Forest Glades and Ruby Red were again my choice of colors.

 My third and final project is a scrapbook layout. I can say I gave the labels a new life on this page! ;)

 It was not a quick layout to make, that's for sure, but I had a lot of fun with it. I started by stamping and die-cutting what felt like a million labels. Half of them were heat-embossed with the new Altenew Embossing Ink and Platinum Crisp embossing powder to bring in some sparkle. I used the gorgeous patterned papers in the Our Family Scrapbook Collection as my base.

 After assembling the tree, I thought it needed some foliage. The Dot Labels stamp set comes with tiny leaves that were perfect to bring in more texture and interest. Again, I stamped and cut a “million” of them, and tacked them in between the layers. For the star, I used the Halftone Stars stamp and coordinating dies. Three nesting layers of stars adhered together with foam adhesive added more dimension and completed the tree.

 I kept the embellishments around my photo pretty simple. Just a few more stars, stickers and wood veneer pieces from the Our Family Scrapbook Collection. The washi tape included in the kit is just beautiful, and finished the layout by balancing out the right side of the page.
