I have used this to create beautiful backgrounds. It is very versatile. I usually swipe my ink pad over it to really highlight the raised parts and add some depth.

The Wicker Pattern 3D Embossing flower made a lovely background in gray behind the Swamp Buttercup stencil and die. I usually do a plain white background, but the gray wicker has really made this lovely flower pop! This wicker background is so versatile and will add more dimension to my cards. So very pleased with these purchases.
