I've had other metal palette knives and they tended to bend instead of flex and so broke easily or became unusable. These are surprisingly sturdy. They have some flexibility but don't bend so they don't feel like they will weaken and break over time. It's kinda hard to compare to a plastic palette knife as the flexibility of the plastic allows for techniques you can't do with these, but if you need something for spreading pastes through stencils etc, these are a huge upgrade from a plastic palette knife. These are a great value even at full price and I don't say that lightly. It isn't often I find a product that elicits a 'if I had known how good this was or what a game changer it would be, I wouldn't have hemmed and hawed over the price'.

I am used to using plastic palette knives, and I find these far superior to what I was using. These still have the flexibility that I like, but are stronger and apply thick pastes more evenly. And cleanup is a breeze!

I wanted something sturdier than the plastic knives I'd been using, but wasn't expecting how much easier they make application. I used them to apply heavy paste over a delicate stencil and was surprised by how easy it was to get even coverage.

Perfect set of tools to use with my gels and inks for special effects.
