1 Product, Multiple Ways: Beauty Within Set
Here are 8 handmade card ideas featuring the Beauty Within Stamp Set, Die Set, and Simple Coloring Stencil Set. Whether you’re into stamping, die-cutting, stenciling, or coloring, this versatile set has it all for you!
1. Use the leaves as focal points.
While the Japanese anemones are definitely the star of this set, Erum showed how you can create incredibly stunning handmade cards with equally stunning leaves in the set. Click here for the step-by-step tutorial.
2. Color them in with your favorite coloring medium.
You can also use watercolor, alcohol markers, watercolor pencils, coloring pencils, etc. and you’ll achieve a unique look every single time.
3. Make the background the focal point!
Jaycee decided to make the background of his card pop by utilizing the Japanese art of paper marbling - Suminagashi. According to Jaycee, Suminagashi uses ink that floats on water. This ink is ‘painted' on the surface of the water, then transferred to a canvas-like washi paper like a woodblock print. Each print is unique. He then kept the Beauty Within flowers in black and white to emphasize the gorgeous background. Watch the video tutorial here.
4. Try some white-on-black design!
In Jessie’s fabulous slimline card, she stamped and embossed the florals from the Beauty Within Set and some foliage from the Wallpaper Art Set, then reinforced the ghostly white painting with the Artists' Watercolor 24 Pan Set. Easy peasy! Check out her step-by-step tutorial here or watch the video tutorial by clicking the image below.
5. Stamp, stencil, and ink blend!
Can’t decide whether you feel like stamping, stenciling, or ink blending? How about doing them all?
Norine’s card used various elements from different stamp sets - one of them was the Beauty Within Stamp Set. She used complementary inks to randomly stamp the Shine Like a Diamond, Dainty Swiss Dots background stamps, and the leaf stamps in the Beauty Within Stamp Set before blending inks over the whole panel to (sort of) match the shades of ink stamped beneath. She didn’t stop there though! She then added a layer of stenciled images from the Bubble Wrap Stencil and the Playful Patterns Builder Stencil set to add even more layers of color to the stamping. 6. Combine with your favorite patterned paper!
The Beauty Within flowers and leaves are already stunning as-is, but if you want to take it up a notch try using patterned paper as your background to really make the images pop. BONUS: Use the simple coloring stencils for quick and easy handmade cards. Virginia’s card didn’t take more than 5 minutes to make! Here’s a card tutorial by Virginia.
7. Get out those nesting dies and add instantly gorgeous dimension to your handmade cards!
In her card, Therese stamped the Beauty Within flowers and leaves, colored them in with the coordinating coloring stencils, and die cut the panel with the Nesting Ovals Die Set. The trick is to add A LOT of foam tape to elevate each die-cut.
8. White heat-emboss on vellum!
White heat-emboss the images from Beauty Within on vellum, pop them up on a neutral-colored background, and you’re good to go! How cool are Norine’s cards?
BONUS IDEA: Stamp it on fabric - whether it’s a DIY mask, tote bag, canvas pouch, or even a t-shirt! Make sure to use the proper ink (fabric ink or mixed media ink) and seal the stamped images afterward.
