The Artist Behind the Art: Aditi’s Amazing Acrylic Scenes
Last Updated: July 29, 2024
"Everyone can become an artist if they wish to, but the only difference between an artist and a non-artist is that the artist "chose to create" whereas others didn't." - Aditi Gupta, on her gratitude about helping others become inspired with art.
Many times art is a great way for people to express their pain. Each brush stroke on a canvas can manage to paint away the sorrows of life underneath colors. Like many artists, Aditi Gupta found the light in dark times through painting. Especially amidst the chaos of the pandemic, she found solace in her art.

A self-taught artist hailing from India, Aditi has been passionate about art since the tender age of a 2nd grader. However, it was during the lockdown, when everything came to a standstill and online classes took over, that Aditi's art truly flourished.
With ample time on her hands, she poured her heart and soul into her paintings and shared them consistently on Instagram, improving her skills with each stroke of her brush. Her dedication paid off, and today, Aditi has sold over 50 paintings, including commissions.
"I usually like painting natural landscapes, seascapes, or sceneries. I've always felt gravitated toward nature-related themes, although I've also been experimenting with other topics. I generally work with gouache and acrylics. It has always suited me as I perform the best with these mediums."
Nature is Aditi's greatest muse, and she draws inspiration from the world around her. She creates stunning landscapes, seascapes, and sceneries, immersing herself in the beauty of nature. She experiments with different themes but finds herself drawn back to the splendor of the natural world.

Aditi works with gouache and acrylics, finding them to be the perfect mediums for her artistic expression. Gouache, with its flexibility and water-based consistency, is Aditi's comfort medium. She blends shades and tones effortlessly to create perfectly blended sunsets and intricately detailed skies.
"Creating landscapes requires a lot of variety of shades and tones with smoothly blended skies and details. After experimenting with a few mediums, gouache is one of the flexible mediums I'm comfortable with. Although I've also been working with acrylics on canvas, gouache is my comfort medium on paper. Gouache is a water-based medium whose consistency can vary. You can mix a few drops of water and work smoothly with it, or you can directly start painting with it as a heavy thick medium."

Aditi's art is a reflection of her dedication and passion for her craft. She strives for perfection in every stroke, and it shows in her breathtaking paintings. When asked about her number one source of inspiration, Aditi gives credit to the beauty of Mother Nature.
Beyond creating beautiful art, Aditi is also dedicated to inspiring others to embrace their creativity. Anyone can become an artist if they wish to, and Aditi is living proof of this. Her art has even inspired her younger sister to explore her own creativity, and she hopes to inspire others to do the same.
"I really like spreading new energy and ideas through my art. I have a younger sister who eventually started to get interested in art after seeing my work. I feel it's high time to realize that there are fields which do not require any degree or qualification but an open mind and the ability to create."
For Aditi, time management is a challenge - balancing her studies with her passion for art. However, she finds that creating art is not only therapeutic but also a much-needed distraction from the daily grind. Aditi dedicates 2-3 hours of her day to her art, using it as a way to unwind and express herself.
"I'm a student who's currently pursuing her studies. Sometimes it gets hard for me to manage art or commissions as well as studies, so I try to overcome it by taking a small number of orders at a time. The rest of the time, I spend on my studies and regular day-to-day work. There is a saying that one cannot become what they want just by being comfortable. One must or has to face challenges in order to keep going or achieve something. So despite the challenges, I think that's what keeps me moving ahead and continuing creating art."
True to her advice, Aditi attributes her gorgeous prints and paintings to hard work. Her advice to beginners who want to start with gouache painting entails a practical tip about the usage of water:
"Sometimes different themes of painting require a different consistency of gouache. For example, when you feel like creating a perfectly blended sunset, then a specific amount of water is required to be mixed with gouache in order to blend it smoothly and precisely. "
Aditi's journey as an artist is a testament to the power of dedication and perseverance. She reminds us that challenges are a part of life, but they should not stop us from pursuing our passions. With each stroke of her brush, Aditi inspires us to embrace our creativity and chase our dreams, for art has the power to heal and inspire us all.
